Endicott College is pleased to announce that Dr. Angelika Gena from Greece, a clinician and researcher who has devoted her career to the treatment of autism, will speak on Wednesday, April 18 from 6-8 p.m. in the Rose Performance Hall, Center for the Arts, Endicott College, 376 Hale St., Beverly. Her presentation will address teaching play skills to children with autism, entitled, ?A Developmental Perspective for the Assessment and Teaching of Play to Children with Autism.? This event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is requested.
Gena will be a visiting scholar at the Van Loan School for Graduate and Professional Studies. She is especially interested in improving the social skills of children with autism. This is a difficult area for many parents and teachers of children with autism to address, according to Gena.
The Onassis Foundation has sponsored Gena?s trip to several U.S. colleges and universities to share her work and to facilitate the international exchange of ideas regarding the treatment of autism.
